Police are investigating whether a group of leftist anarchists who threw a tear gas grenade at the home of the American ambassador to Israel on Saturday night were associated with the leftists Israeli group Betselem. Police sources said that they may have found a flag with the Betselem logo emblazoned on it in a search of one of the vehicles used by the anarchists, who rioted outside the ambassador's house in Herzliya. Among the items found in the car were additional tear gas grenades that police say the rioters may have been planning to use.
Eleven rioters were arrested after the incident. They are to be brought before a judge for an extension of their remand on Sunday.
