Schneller: Don't Buy Turkish Dried Fruit
Speaking Wednesday, Kadima MK Otniel Schneller suggested that Israelis boycott dried fruit from Turkey, which is imported in large quantities for the Tu B'shvat holiday. In recent years, he said, Israelis were purchasing dried fruit from Turkey on Tu B'shvat, instead of eating the superior fresh fruit from Israel.
Pointing to what he said was the hatred of Turkey for Israel, Schneller said that there was no reason to purchase Turkish dried fruit, especially when the Land of Israel, “ the land of milk and honey, is overflowing with wonderful and delicious agricultural products.”
