Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau of Tel Aviv remembered former Knesset speaker Dov Shilansky Friday as part of his weekly corner on Arutz Sheva's Hebrew service, as he travelled to Shilansky's funeral. He recalled how Shilansky had a corner of his own on Arutz Sheva, right before his own. The former chief rabbi of Israel described Shilansky as upright and unique in his love of Torah and the land of Israel.
Minister Benny Begin recalled Shilansky earlier as a virtual member of his family and a model of how a politician should serve the people without giving in to passing trends.
