According to a list released by Yahoo! on Wednesday, in 2010 there were more internet searches on news issues rather than on celebrities.

The most-searched for items in 2010 were the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and World Cup soccer. It is the first time in ten years that news came up first in internet searches.
