Jewish Samarians Complain of Discrimination on Roads

Jewish residents of Samaria wrote a letter to Defense Minister Ehud Barak protesting what they say is discriminatory policies against Jewish motorists on local roads.

The text of the letter read:

"All roads are open and free to Arab residents, however today, a number of roads that once were open to Jewish residents are today accessible only to Arab residents."

"Closing certain roads is racial discrimination. Jewish residents must use bypass roads which affects their quality of life and livelihood. Preferred traffic arteries are accessible to terrorists and hostile elements, who know that security forces do not move along these roads.
