Pollard Marks 25 Years in US Prison

On Sunday Jonathan Pollard marked 25 years in American prison.

In an interview he gave with the Maariv newspaper Pollard said,” Every day I get up in the morning and I pray that today will be the day. Every day, I pray today the warden will walk into my cell and tell me, ‘Pollard, get your things together. You’re going home.’”

The Justice for Jonathan activist group said in response to the 25th anniversary that “Pollard’s unprecedented sentence is grossly disproportionate to the offense he committed. The usual sentence is 2 to 4 years. Former American Deputy Secretary of Defense, Lawrence Korb, recently revealed that Pollard’s harsh sentence was the result of false charges and baseless accusations.”
