The Central Bureau of Statistics announced Wednesday its rankings for the most common names of Jewish babies born in 2009. Among boys the top four names stayed the same as last year: Noam, followed by Iti, Uri and Daniel.
Also amongst the girls there were no significant changes. The name Noah continues to lead the list for nearly a decade, followed by Shira, Tamar and Yael. Biblical names, both male and female, also continue to figure prominently in the top twenty.
