Supreme Court Justice Eliakim Rubinstein called on the government Monday evening to act for the release of Jonathan Pollard, who is serving a life sentence in the United States for passing classified information to Israel.
Speaking at an event to mark former prime minister Yitzchak Shamir's 95th birthday, the former attorney general said, "Twenty-five years ago today, Pollard was caught by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. I was the senior official at the embassy and I was told, in passing. Twenty-five years is a heavy price. The American administration is fair and I call on the Israeli government to work for his release."
