Arsonists in Lod have set fire to the offices of Kardan, a company that is offering hundreds of housing units for sale to the religious-Zionist community. The attack took place at the Kardan office in the old city of Lod.

Hundreds of religious-Zionist Jewish families have expressed interest in living in Lod, a mixed Jewish-Arab city in central Israel where housing prices are relatively low, due in large part to the high crime rate.

Assaf Weiss of the Committee for a Secure Lod said the attack would not deter religious families from continuing to move to the city. He called on police to do more to fight crime.
