The military appeals court rejected, on Thursday, the appeal of Yusef Abu Aadi of Ramallah against his murder conviction in the stabbing death of 20-year-old Sergeant Nir Kahane at the Kalandia crossing between Ramallah and Jerusalem about five years ago. The court also rejected Aadi's appeal of his life sentence.

Aadi claimed through his appeal that he was mentally ill and not responsible for his actions. The court said there was a break in the illness at the time of the attack according to experts.
