October was the quietest month for terror attacks in 2010, according to figures released Thursday by the Shabak Israel Security Agency. Overall, there were 44 attacks, as compared to 88 in September.

Thirteen of the 18 attacks originating in Gaza were rockets or mortar shells. There were four shootings and one attack involving an anti-tank rocket. Despite the continuing tension in the Jewish-Arab Jerusalem neighborhood of Shiloach, there were only six incidents in October, compared to 31 in September. In Judea and Samaria, the number of attacks rose from 19 in September to 20 in October.
