Egypt's Intelligence chief Omar Suleiman and Foreign Minister Ahmed Abu al-Rheit are travelling to Ramallah Thursday to meet PA chief Mahmoud Abbas. Senior Egyptian officials told Arab media that the meeting will discuss methods to restart direct talks between Israel and the PA. A report said that the two will try to convince Abbas to restart talks on the basis of a partial building freeze in Judea and Samaria approved by the U.S., where the freeze would be in effect outside the settlement blocs only. In return, the U.S. will pressure Israel to sign a final status deal in the coming months.

The two will travel to Jordan when they finish their meeting with Abbas.
