Interior Committee Chairman MK David Azoulay, has passed on to Interior Minister Eli Yishai and Minister of Public Security Aharonovitch a proposal for new regulations for owning a weapon in Yesha and asked them to examine the proposed solutions.
The proposal was formulated by the Human Rights in Yesha Organization, the Honenu Association and the Legal Forum for the Land of Israel, following an Internal Affairs Committee hearing held last month in which it was discovered that Yitzhak Ames, who was murdered in the southern Mount Hebron attack, was denied his weapon by the police shortly before he was killed by terrorists.
