MK Uri Orbach (Bayit Yehudi) said Tuesday that he intends to make a priority institution of an organized and proper procedure for qualification test given by the Chief Rabbinate. In a letter to the State Control Committee, Orbach wrote that he was “shocked” when he paid a surprise visit to the venue where the tests were being given on Monday. “Hundreds of candidates couldn't find a place to sit, the test began three hours late, and the entire place had an atmosphere of disorganization. All this despite promises by the Rabbinate to the Committee that they would do whatever was necessary to ensure that the tests went smoothly.
“I received innumerable complaints on the spot, and afterwards,” Orbach continued. “I intend to take all parliamentary steps necessary to ensure that this shameful scene does not repeat itself.”
