MK Michael Ben Ari (National Union), who initiated a discussion in the Knesset on police procedure regarding searching girls who have been detained, attacked the police and said that what can be understood from words spoken by police officers is that police sources decided to punish the girls. "A girl who refuses to identify herself is punished by being humiliated, undressed, and abused."

Ben Ari added: "There's a field court being operated by police officials and we in the Knesset cannot stand for this. We must refine the procedures in order to convey a message to each policeman and policewoman. We will not let the police harm citizens' rights."
