The latest State Comptroller report was devoted in part to local government’s battle against drug and alcohol abuse. The report said that, according to data, the number of drug users at about 333 000 or some 4% of the population.
Despite the serious findings, the Comptroller said that not enough was being done to combat the problem which is one of the reasons for dropping out educational frameworks, involvement in criminal activity, damaging social ties and engendering social crises.
