For the first time ever, the Reform movement has publicly called for clemency for Jonathan Pollard who has been jailed for almost 25 years for passing on US government information related to Israel’s security.

The Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism has called on its members to help free Pollard, who it says has served one of the longest prison terms of any American ever convicted of spying for an ally of the United States. The Haredi-based Agudath Israel of America has joined the call for clemency.
