The PA has declared an official ban on purchases from the Rami Levi supermarket chain. The chain's stores in Judea and Samaria, including one located in Gush Etzion, are very popular among Arabs from the area because of its prices and quality. Observers have called the stores a true example of coexistence, as Arabs and Jews freely mix and shop, all attracted by the bargains.
The PA has for months been trying to discourage Arabs from making purchases there, spreading false stories about the poor quality of the chain's goods. PA sources said that even top PA officials buy at the chain.
