Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said before Sunday's cabinet meeting that the Palestinian Authority's fierce opposition to the concept of a Jewish state left Israel with no choice but to place the fate of Israel's Arab population on the negotiating table as well.
Lieberman said that while he believed Arabs who are loyal to the state could fulfill any job – including working for the Mossad – Arab Mks like Hanin Zuabi and Ra'ed Salah, who use every opportunity to denigrate Israel, would be better off running for parliament in Gaza, as Hamas or Fatah candidates. “Let them do what they want, but they cannot hold both ends of the stick,” receiving the benefits of being an Israeli Knesset member and working against the state, he said.
“The principle in negotiations needs to be not land for peace, but an exchange of land and populations,” Lieberman said.
