Regional Psychiatric Ambulances Don't Cross Green Line

People in the Binyamin Region Jewish community of Beit El who needed a psychiatric ambulance were surprised by a social worker at the regional psychiatrist's office Thursday morning who told them , "We don't cross the Green Line," referring to the 1949 cease fire lines separating Judea and Samaria from the rest of Israel." When the welfare personnel asked to speak with the regional psychiatrist, they were told he was abroad and unreachable.

Responding to the story, the health department said the social worker's response was in contradiction of department policy which does not discriminate between one Israeli and another, and that the matter would be checked.
