Rightist Pastor Terry Jones of the Dove World Outreach Center in Florida said on Tuesday that his community would go ahead with plans to burn copies of the Koran on September 11 in an act of protest against the deadly al-Qaeda attacks on America which took place on that day in 2001.

Jones decided to go ahead with the Koran burning despite warnings he received from the White House and the top United States general in Afghanistan that he would endanger American troops overseas.
