Members of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Tuesday toured the offshore Yam Thetis gas drilling site, 24 kilometers off the Gaza coast. The Mks sailed out to the site in order to review safety and security issues, as Hamas threatened to carry out terror attacks against the installation. MK Tzachi Hanegbi, chairman of the Committee, said that the security measures in place were very impressive, and emphasized the importance of the site and others that are being developed, as they will help reduce Israel's dependence on foreign energy.
