The Knesset Control Committee has scheduled a special recess hearing after Rosh Hashanah regarding remarks by an attorney for the state that military conversions to Judaism do not include conversion judges and carry no confirmation under Jewish law.

Committee Chairman Yoel Hasson called the comments "nothing less than an outrage", adding that they have put the conversions of thousands of soldiers in doubt. He said the purpose of the hearing is to clarify the matter and insure the validity of the military conversions.
