President Shimon Peres sends a Rosh HaShanah New Year’s greeting to all of the People of Israel for peace, prosperity and security in the coming year of 5771 on the Hebrew calendar. The two-day Rosh HaShanah holiday, ushering in the “10 days of Repentance" through Yom Kippur, begins Wednesday evening.

He called for Jews around the world to work together with those in Israel “for the benefit of the generations to come,” with an emphasis on Zionist education in the Diaspora.
