An organization calling itself Halamish (hareidim for Judea and Samaria) is making efforts to sign thousands of members of the hareidi-religious community on petitions calling for members of the United Torah Judaim party to declare that they will quit the government if the building freeze in the region continues past its currently-scheduled conclusion.
Rabbi David Stern, who is heading these efforts, told Arutz Sheva's Hebrew journal, "If a freeze is announced in even one community, we will present the documents to Members of Knesset, Rabbi [Moshe] Gafni, Rabbi [Meir] Porush and Rabbi [Menachem Eliezer] Moses." He added, "Until now, United Torah Judaism has not said a word on the subject, and it's important now, when [Prime Minister Binyamin] Netanyahu is making his political calculations, that he also know that this party will not be with him."
