An estimated 80,000 Muslims went to Temple Mount mosques to pray on the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
With 2,000 police and Border Guard officers deployed on the mount and neighboring areas of Jerusalem's Old City, a minimum age of 50 years old was required for access to the site for Muslim men to guard against violence. The minimum for women was 40. The Bethlehem-based Ma'an news agency says younger people were allowed on the site with special permits.
