The shekel rose an average of .082 percent Friday against most of the other currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.779, down .238 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro declined .171 percent to 4.8515 shekels. The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.8223, down .228 percent.
Rising against the shekel were the Norwegian and Swedish crowns and the South African rand.
