Professor Shmuel Noach Eisenstadt, who was awarded the Israel Prize in sociology in 1973, has passed away at the age of 87. The Warsaw-born scholar taught at the Hebrew University from 1959 to 1990. He also held teaching positions in other countries, and won international honors and recognition.

Professor Eisenstadt's funeral will leave from the Jerusalem communities' eulogy hall in the Giv'at Shaul cemetery, Sunday morning at 11:00.
