The shekel gained an average of .115 percent in value Thursday against most of the other currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign exchange list. The United States dollar slipped .263 percent to NIS 3.788, while the Euro was fixed at 4.8598 shekels, down .049 percent.

The pound sterling declined .127 percent to NIS 5.8356. Rising in value against the shekel were the Australian and Canadian dollars, the Norwegian krone and the South African rand.
