One result of the two terror attacks in Judea and Samaria has been the summary cancellation of all school trips over the Green Line, until further notice. Schools that sought to organize tours to the region were told by the Education Ministry that the IDF Central Command had cancelled all class trips because of security concerns.

In response, the Yesha Human Rights Council appealed to Defense Minister Ehud Barak, saying that the decision was a surrender to terror, and contradicts a High Court decision that prevents “punishing the victim by limiting his freedom of movement.” The letter to Barak quotes the court decision as stating specifically that areas should not be closed off to Israeli citizens because of terror attacks, with the court saying that such decisions constituted “a reward for violence.”
