Speaking in an interview Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister Silvan Shalom said that in any negotiations, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu must not abandon the principles the Likud stands for. Speaking on Israel Radio, Shalom said that construction in Judea and Samaria must resume at the end of the month, as decided by the government, even if the PA threatens to boycott the talks taking place in Washington. Shalom added that the positions the PA holds in the negotiations, and their proclaimed lack of desire to compromise, means that there is little chance of progress in the talks.
