At a festive gathering held Wednesday night in honor of Binyamin Netanyahu and Mahmoud Abbas, the Prime Minister told the PA chief that he was “my partner in peace.” Netanyahu said that he had come to Washington to make peace, not to “play games” or find excuses as to why a deal was not being made. Netanyahu said that Israel's security must remain paramount, especially in light of the terror attacks Tuesday and Wednesday night. “There are many reasons to be skeptical, but I believe peace is possible,” Netanyahu said.
"I have come here to seek a historic compromise that will enable both our peoples to live in peace," Netanyahu added. Abbas said that “the time has come to make peace, end the occupation, and establish a Palestinian state.”
