Obama to Israeli People:Extremists Trying to Ruin Talks

U.S. President, Barack Obama, read a statement Wednesday evening as he stood with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu adter their meeting. "I wanted to take this opportunity to talk to the Israeli people about the massacre yesterday. Extremist elements rather than agree to peace are trying to destroy. The tragedy we saw yesterday, in which people were shot in the street by terrorists who are trying to undermine the talks, is an example of what we are up against. The U.S. fully supports Israel and its security and rejects this kind of terrorist activity. This message needs to go to Hamas and other groups. It's not going to stop us  from supporting Israel's security and the promise of peace in which all peoples in the region can begin on a new path. I want to express mycondolences to the families of the victims."
