Responding to a report by the Comptroller's office on irregularities in the method of appointing high ranking IDF officers, an army spokesperson said Tuesday that most of the criticisms in the report had already appeared in the Comptroller's annual report in 2007, and steps had been taken to correct the problems.
According to the spokesperson, The IDF is currently introducing an updated system of regulations for the appointment of officers, and the necessary qualifications for posts. The project will be fully implemented by the end of 2010, the spokesperson said.
