Police and Industry, Trade and Labor officials seized dozens of phony handguns and automatic weapons in the Arab villages of Taibe and Kalansuwa Tuesday. The guns were made of plastic and fired plastic bullets, metal objects, and firecrackers. The merchandise was seized and several individuals on whose property the dangerous items were found have been arrested. The detainees claim that the “weapons” are safe, and that they were to be used in traditional end-of-Ramadan celebrations.
