Knesset chairman Reuven Rivlin will officially open school in Efrat on the first day of classes Wednesday. Rivlin will attend an opening ceremony at the Oseh Hayil school in the city. Rivlin will also visit officials in the Efrat municipality, and tour a new project in the Dekel neighborhood, where construction on 32 units was halted as a result of the building freeze in Judea and Samaria.

Efrat Mayor Oded Revivi said that not one new home has been authorized for construction in Efrat in the past 10 years, despite the declarations of politicians that Gush Etzion was at the center of the “consensus” of communities in Judea and Samaria that Israelis of every political stripe agree must remain a part of Israel, even if Israel and the Palestinian Authority work out a deal.
