The Quarter of Middle East peace broker nations (European Union, Russia, United Nations, United States) is expected on Friday to publicize a draft of a call to Israel and the Palestinian Authority to resume direct talks.
Diplomatic sources in the U.S. say the draft does not include a specific mention of a need for a freeze on Jewish construction in eastern Jerusalem or Judea and Samaria, as contained in previous drafts. It does put a one-year limit on the talks, a condition Israel has rejected in the past.
