US Congressman Says Kosher Butcher Jailed Unfairly

Congressman Anthony Weiner (New York) has written a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder criticizing the sentencing of Sholom Rubashkin. The head of the Agriprocessors kosher meatpacking plant in the United States was sentenced to 27 years in prison for financial fraud.

Weiner said the punishment does not fit the crime. He urged an investigation into "allegations of impropriety and unfairness in the Sholom Rubashkin case in order to remove the cloud that is growing publicly and in judicial circles."
