The American Center for Law and Justice has filed a court petition against the decision by New York City Council to allow the demolition of buildings near the ruins of the Twin Towers in order to make room for a mosque. Earlier this week the city's municipal committee responsible for setting up historical sites in New York, denied a request to prevent the construction of a Muslim cultural center that will include a mosque, near the area where the towers collapsed during the September 11 attacks.
