The Israel Electric Company on Saturday night asked Israelis to conserve electricity as much as possible this week. With very hot weather predicted for this week, the IEC expects demand to reach its peak output capability. The IEC can produce 10,200 megawatts of electricity, and private companies can produce another 4,000-6,000 megawatts. If the total of 10,800 megawatts is exceeded by demand, brownouts may be possible, the IEC said.
