The shekel gained an average of .364 percent in value against most of the other currencies on the Bank of Israel foreign exchange list on Friday, the last day of official rate setting for July. The United States dollar was set at NIS 3.779, down .264 percent, while the Euro declined .686 percent to 4.9237 shekels. The pound sterling was fixed at NIS 5.9058, down .373 percent.
The Lebanese lira showed no change at .252 shekels. Rising against the Israeli currency were the Swiss franc at NIS 3.6391, up .53 percent from Thursday, and the Japanese yen. A hundred yen was worth 4.3779 shekels, up .621 percent.
