Yitzhar Yeshiva: Whoever Destroys Will Pay

Attorney Doron Nir Tzvi, who represents the Od Yosef Chair yeshiva in the Samarian Jewish community of Yitzhar, said Friday that he does not think the school will be destroyed, despite the military's rejection of the yeshiva's appeal of a decade-old demolition order. Interviewed by Arutz Sheva's Hebrew service, said there are various ways to fight the order, including drafting politicians. He added that the building was funded by a number of ministries to the tune of millions of shekels and if it is destroyed, the yeshiva will be entitled to a large amount of compensation.

The attorney said that as a practical matter, the large stone facility will be difficult to bring down. Anticipating the reaction of Yitzhar residents, he said, if the military brought a brigade to arrest Rabbi Yitzchak Shapira this week, it will need a division to bring down the yeshiva. Doron Nir Tzvi said the Civil Administration for Judea and Samaria is using the demolition as a threat to hold over the yeshiva's head for good behavior.
