The Health Ministry reminded the public on Thursday to drink a lot and keep its collective head covered during the extreme heat wave forecast for the weekend. The office said sensitive segments of the population, such as senior citizens and infants should be kept in air-conditioned places as much as possible.

A significant jump in temperatures to warmer than usual is forecast for Friday with an accompanying increase in heat stress, especially in the mountains and inland regions. Sharav conditions are forecast for Shabbat and Sunday, with warmer than usual weather on tap for Monday, after a slight drop in temperatures. Temperatures will range from 32Celsius/90Fahrenheit in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem to 41C/106F in Eilat and the mid 30's/Mid 90's in Haifa and the Golan Heights.
