The police and Land of Israel activists reached a compromise at the Supreme Court on Thursday that will allow the activists to march 50 meters further into the Israeli Arab city of Umm El-Fahm than granted by the court on Wednesday to protest the activities of the Israel Islamic Movement. Sheikh Raed Salah, the leader of the movement's northern branch, is serving a five-month sentence for spitting at a policeman during a violent demonstration in Jerusalem.
Activist Itamar Ben-Gvir told the court during a hearing on the group's petition to march that activists were willing to compromise with police but not to go further away from the Islamic Movement's offices.
