New temporary classrooms are set to be built in Jewish towns in Judea and Samaria in time for the upcoming school year. On Wednesday night, Defense Minister Ehud Barak's office informed MK Zvulun Orlev (Bayit Yehudi), chairman of the Knesset Educational Committee, that permits for the classrooms are set to be approved in the coming days.

Orlev said Thursday that the Defense Ministry had responded positively to the request for classrooms made by the Committee during several meetings. The Ministry had agreed with the need for the classrooms to be built, but the permits had been held up for months. “The holdup meant that until yesterday, some 1,000 students in Judea and Samaria would not have had a seat in a classroom next month.”
