A top Fatah official said Thursday that Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad may lose his job next week, as the PA government undergoes a shakeup. PA chief Mahmoud Abbas has been feuding with Fayyad for months, the official told a Jordanian newspaper, over his interference in diplomatic matters. The shakeup will enable Abbas to push for cabinet members more to his liking, the official said. Abbas has not yet decided whether to ask Fayyad to form the new government, and may ask another Fatah figure to perform the task, he said.
