Gonen Ginat, Editor of the Israel Hayom newspaper, said in response to a new survey that revealed that the left leaning Yediot Aharonot newspaper is no longer the leading paper in the country, “They thought they owned the country, but the public said 'no'.” Ginat was playing on the newspaper’s longtime slogan which is “The Nation’s Newspaper”, but often decried by critics as "The Newspaper’s Nation”.
