Police commander David Cohen will visit a police officer who was stabbed several days ago while attempting to apprehend a thief. The condition of the officer, Shlomi Asulin, has deteriorated significantly in the past day. Cohen said that despite the High Court ruling harshening the judgement against Shahar Mizrahi, who was convicted of shooting and killing a burglar some four years ago, he and police officials would give all support necessary to officers in their fight against crime. “The Israeli public and society sent these officers to fight crime, and as such we shall continue to support them in this work,” Cohen said.
