A day after a face-off between Israel and Libya was averted, when a Libyan ship set for Gaza unloaded its cargo in El-Arish, Sa'if al-Islam Qadaffi, son of Libyan dictator Muammar Qadaffi, told an Arabic-language newspaper in London that Israel had agreed to allow Libya to send as much as $50 million to Gaza, as part of the agreement to prevent the ship from entering Gaza. The money will be transferred via UNWRA, and will be used for building projects, he said. The deal was arranged between Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman, said Qadaffi, who was behind the ship's attempt to enter Gaza.
