The Legal Forum for the Land of Israel sent an urgent letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz on Monday, demanding to prevent the transfer of $13.5 million to Gaza on Tuesday. In the letter, forum chairman Nachi Eyal says the transfer lends a hand to strengthening Hamas - which wants to destroy Israel - especially because the funds are in cash, which can be used to pay for goods brought via the smuggling tunnels, maybe even weapons, which will be returned to Sderot, other Gaza-area communities and Ashkelon in the form of Kassam rockets.

The letter continues, "We must act to apply pressure on the Hamas government and not to help it by giving it an economic base....Stopping Israeli cooperation will send a clear message against terror and the possibility of re-armament of Hamas and renewal of the war against us in the South."

There are reports that Noam Shalit, the father of abducted Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, is considering petitioning the Supreme Court against the transfer.
